CLOWN MOTEL

Welcome to Clown Motel -
where you're guaranteed to die....but it won't be from laughing.

Clowns are a perfect preamble to Halloween week. When it comes to scaring the jeeters out of me, they rank right up there with ventriloquist dummies.

 ....hardly a smile in sight......

The ultimate laugh

This says it all

I'm here to make you laugh......
if it takes all day.

Where did that extra hand come from?

What exactly is this all about?
I don't want to venture a guess....

"We can be pals forever, Billy. It'll be our secret."

Holy Shit!

Out of Prozac

 Bad makeup day??

waiting to make you happy

The Visitation

 Klown in the kitchen

Have a seat

one for the road

  1. Awww Jon your clowns are different then my clowns. Mine are happy, smiling, jumping clowns. Mine got rained out Saturday. It should have been our 50th Cowboy Homecoming with parade and clowns and everything.

  2. My clowns are like Paula's, your clowns are definitely creepy. We had a couple of clowns at my oldest's second birthday. I don't think she was traumatized, she hardly paid any attention to them. In regards to your other blog post, I've always liked Maureen O'Hara. Take care,Sheila

    1. Some clowns are benign, but the majority seem extremely creepy and unnatural to me.
O'Hara always projected an image of eternal youth - - hard to believe she was 95.

  3. Even as a kid I didn't think clowns were remotely funny and although I wasn't scared of them they bored me. I didn't reckon much on most puppets either. IN fact come to think of it I didn't like dolls much. I've changed my views slightly since then but I still only appreciate them aesthetically - not emotionally. In any way, good or bad.

    1. I think there is some universal illusion (delusion?) that children love clowns and puppets. I never did.

  4. Some clowns bother me....it has to have that twisted, evil look. They don't bother me like ventriloquist dolls. The clown on American horror story last season more then did the trick. Wait till Anne Marie shows up. I hear she likes a roll in the hay with rodeo clowns!!!!!

    1. I'll have to agree that ventriloquist dummies are even creepier than clowns.
Rodeo clowns are in a different league. Some of them are sexy.

    2. @maddie - you keep spilling all my secrets and I will tell everyone that you have been surgically "enhanced"! nyah nyah nyah!

  5. Clowns perform as fools whose everyday actions and tasks become extraordinary—and for whom the ridiculous becomes ordinary. The World Clown Association convenes annually. This is beginning to sound more and more like Congress. I begin to understand why they scare us.

  6. Now, I'll probably be seeing "Zippy" and his friends in my dreams! (Naw)
My uncle-the-minister and his wife were friends with the late Emmett Kelly (Sr.) and used to regale my parents with stories from the road. How I wish I'd paid closer attention!

    1. Just be sure to check under your bed before going to sleep. I remember Emmett Kelly. He was really the most popular clown ever, and I never thought of him as particularly creepy.

  9. Being afraid of clowns is supposedly a very common phobia, but one I've never had. Until now. Geeeez, your clowns are beyond creepy.
