VENTRILOQUIST

Ventriloquists and their dummies have always scared the living crap out of me. I can still recall vivid nightmares that I had about them when I was a child.

I've gathered some of the creepiest examples to help fuel the Halloween season.

 School for Dummies.
Don't go there after dark......

Heads in search of bodies

Dummy....with a dummy.....with a dummy......

Assorted heads

I'll let the rest speak for themselves

.....but you're not afraid, are you? They're not real - - they're only dummies.
Tonight you'll sleep like a baby.

  1. well, you went and found my weakness and ultimate fear. They too, scare the living shit out of me. Last time in a room with one I hyper-ventilated! I got as far as the fourth picture. I hope you plan on holding my hand tonight???

Sure, I'll hold your hand. We can conquer our fears together......

  2. ew ew ew! reminds me of the movie "devil doll". I believe candace bergen said her "brother" always came first to her father.

  3. Charlie McCarthy always gave me the creeps. He was best suited for the radio - because Edgar Bergen moved his lips when he talked.

  4. There are somewhat over 50 ventriloquist's dummies pictured in this post. I now have a more accurate idea of how many jeeters there are in a bejeebie.

  5. Some of these dummies are so scary that even the jeeters have jitters.

  6. It's the EYES. Something about the eyes on ventriloquist dummies make them extra creepy.

My paternal grandfather never used a dummy, but he could throw his voice. His favorite thing to do was to make cat noises in a crowded room or bus, whatever, and then watch all the people trying to find the poor kitty. It was hilarious.

  9. They don't creep me out necessarily, but their popularity has always puzzled me.
Sorry, I just don't get the fascination with ugly, disembodied heads that everyone over the age of 18 months knows aren't actually speaking.

PS - Dang, but that female puppet with the blue eye shadow looks a bit like Hillary.... and THAT's scarey
