WALKING THROUGH GRAVEYARDS

Walking through abandoned cemeteries
on misty autumn afternoons and fog-shrouded nights.....

  1. Another lovely post!!! My favorites? The one with the stunning gate with red hue and the one underneath that. Very haunting. I actually love cemeteries. There is just something I'm drawn to. I have done several post on a most magnificent one here in Philadelphia you may like, called Laurel Hill Cemetery. It is one of the oldest historic ones in the US. If your ever inclined just type that in the search box on my blog, it should come up. I also live next to a very old small one, dating to back to the mid 1800's. It doesn't bother me...they very quiet neighbors.

this cemetery is just outside the philadelphia city limits; it has famous people buried there, as well as everyday citizens. it's a fascinating place for a tour!

  4. I've a relative who's fond of visiting cemeteries and tracing headstones, which seems quaint and a bit lovely. But this takes 'creepy' to a whole 'nother level. Some of these sites' crucifixes strike me as being more ghoulish than the skeletal statues.

  5. Some incredible sculpture among sepulchres. Jon. Overall impression is strangely similar to pictures of creepy childrens playgrounds my daughter would send when she studied in Moscow.

  6. Very cool... and somewhat creepy... pictures. I'm not a fan of visiting cemeteries. Not afraid of death or ghosts, or anything like that. I just don't like spending time in them. Maybe because my parents used to take me on walks in a local cemetery, and drag me to a more distant cemetery almost every Sunday to "visit" my grandparents. I'd rather love people while they're alive, and skip the cemetery visits.
