GINGERBREAD

An assortment of fantastic gingerbread creations to brighten the holiday season. Unfortunately I don't have any sources for who created these or where they originated, but they're still a pleasure to behold.

Aw, heck - - we all make mistakes....

  1. Fantastic baked installations! Impressed by all but especially like #16 down --the row of "Painted Ladies" fronting Alamo Park in San Francisco. I've admired them for many years, but never saw Santa skidding down Steiner Street 'til now.

  2. How amazing. For some reason it popped into my head to wonder what they would do with them after Christmas. Then I thought, maybe put them in the shed so they get covered in cobwebs and bring them out again for Halloween....heh heh heh!

  3. These are marvelous. There are certain art forms such as these, elaborate sand castles and sidewalk chalk pictures that never cease to amaze me. If I had such talent I don't think I could create something that is destined to be destroyed. My so-called gingerbread village is comprised of ceramic pieces.

  4. YAY ... I'm not the only LOSER after all. That last pix reminds me of my contribution to our workplace's gingerbread house competition some years ago. Damn, but I can still taste that awful white goo on my hands.

I suppose, on one hand you've those artistic folk who create magnificent edible art... then those who actually HAVE a life. Ha!

  5. One of my daughters used to make a Gingerbread house every year but none this elaborate. I don't think she has time to make one this year with taking me for Chemo and Platelets so often. Thank God for her.

  6. LOVE this post. My GRANDSON made his first GingerBread House this year. He is 10. And he was quite the artisan.

  7. Oh wow. These are amazing. Makes the little gingerbread houses we all make out of kits look pathetic! A lot of these look like they're from the gingerbread competition they have...I think every year? I've seen it on TV.

  9. These are all gingerbread masterpieces which certainly are a pleasure to behold. They put my attempt to shame which more or less resembles the last one :( I love these pictures !
