Magnificent. I am now curious who Elizabeth and Lavinia Clarkson were. Happy Easter, Jon.
I didn't even see that until you mentioned their names - - then I carefully looked at the photos. I would imagine they were the women who donated lots of money to the church for the stained glass....
Oh this was beautiful!!! I love stained glass and these were gorgeous! You made my day, Jon. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed this, Rita. I initially didn't think anyone would be interested in it - - (it isn't often that I make someone's day).
Honestly, I've found most stained glass off-putting ... much to my husband's chagrin. (He enjoys working in that medium.) Nevertheless, I really like #1 and #10. Perfect compliment to Easter Sunday!
Stained glass always gives me a warm feeling of comfort and calmness.I like #10, too - because of the simplicity.
Pictures are mindblowing!
There were so many beautiful photos that it was difficult to choose.
In the early '70s I sold glass stain and lead binding supplies out of my picture-framing shop in a mid-town alley. Sometimes I got to see and frame wonderful work but nothing so magnificent as the examples in your post. This was beautiful, Jon.
Even though I know next to nothing about stained glass, I've always been fascinated with it.
